Program Summary Free outdoor event at Sankofa Square as part of Luminato Festival’s 20th edition. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Toronto Mendelssohn Choir perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, with the live performance at Roy Thomson Hall streamed simultaneously to the square, turning it into an open-air concert hall.

Full Program Details Toronto Symphony Orchestra Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 (“Ode to Joy”) Part of Luminato Festival 2026 (theme: PLAY). Free outdoor screening at Sankofa Square (1 Dundas St E) with live performance at Roy Thomson Hall. A Canadian commission co-presented with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in association with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.
