Elektra Women's Choir
About this organization
Founded in 1987 by Morna Edmundson and Diane Loomer, Elektra is a groundbreaking adult treble-voice choir that has been a leader in the international choral movement for nearly four decades. Now under Artistic Director Cassie Luftspring (appointed 2025), the 45-voice choir has commissioned over 100 Canadian works, won multiple national prizes, hosted the triennial Tapestry International Festival, and in 2024 expanded its membership to welcome all adult treble voices. Elektra's extensive repertoire database is used by conductors worldwide.
