Your classical summer in Toronto: three weeks of Toronto Summer Music
Summer in Toronto means one thing above all: Toronto Summer Music.
The festival opens on July 9 with the legendary French ensemble Les Arts Florissants at Koerner Hall, and runs for three weeks through August 1, filling Koerner Hall and Walter Hall with mainstage concerts, ReGeneration showcases and free outreach programming.
There's also plenty happening outside the festival. Free baroque recitals by the water at the Toronto Music Garden are among the easiest concerts in the city to walk into unannounced — no ticket, no dress code, no commitment beyond staying as long as you're enjoying it. Elsewhere this month: bel canto stars Erin Morley and Lawrence Brownlee, and Leeds Competition winner Jaeden Izik-Dzurko making his TSM debut.
This is the same lineup that went out in the summer newsletter, adapted here in case you'd rather browse than scroll an inbox. If you're new here, Discover is the editorial side of Allegro — a little more opinionated than the full listings. Subscribe below and I'll send the next one straight to your inbox.
See you at a concert soon.
