Luminato Festival

Luminato Festival is Toronto's flagship multidisciplinary arts festival, staged each June in venues and public spaces across the city. It was founded in 2007 by David Pecaut and Tony Gagliano. The organisation is led by CEO Celia Smith and artistic director Olivia Ansell. Programming spans theatre, dance, music and opera, circus and magic, and large-scale free public art, with recent editions including the Philip Glass Ensemble and Penn & Teller, presented at hubs such as Harbourfront Centre and Sankofa Square. The 2026 edition marked the festival's 20th anniversary.
