Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra

About this organization

The Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra is the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's tuition-free training orchestra for musicians aged 22 and under, and one of Canada's leading youth orchestras. It was founded in 1974 with Victor Feldbrill as its first music director and gave its inaugural concert in February 1975. Members rehearse at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music's Edward Johnson Building and are coached throughout the season by TSO musicians and guest artists. The orchestra presents its own three-concert Saturday-afternoon series at Roy Thomson Hall and joins the TSO each season for a Side-by-Side performance.
