Steeped in Sound

An afternoon tea concert of tall tales, tea leaves and well travelled tunes, blending Chinese musical traditions with Canadian landscape and Scottish bagpipe.

Some places never leave us. They return in a familiar melody, the scent of tea, a sound we haven’t heard in years. A kettle comes to a boil. A low murmur rises to a whistle. Let it stretch into a note, then follow it somewhere unexpected: into an ancient legend from northeastern China, across a Canadian landscape, towards a distant flourish of Scottish bagpipe. Steeped in Sound is an afternoon tea concert of tall tales, tea leaves and well travelled tunes, presented by the Vancouver Chinese Instrumental Music Society and the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. Venue: Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, 578 Carrall Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 5K2 Tickets: https://www.showpass.com/steeped-in-sound/ Official event page: https://www.chinesemusicvancouver.com/steeped-in-sound
