A Well-Tempered Journey Part 1: Minsoo Sohn plays Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I

Pianist Minsoo Sohn returns to UVic for an extraordinary two-concert journey through J.S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I. Part 1 of two.

Across two consecutive evenings, Minsoo Sohn will perform all 24 preludes and fugues from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I — a landmark collection that explores every major and minor key and stands as one of the foundational works of the keyboard repertoire. The journey begins on September 22 with Bach’s 12 Little Preludes, followed by the first 12 preludes and fugues from The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I. Part 2 follows on Wednesday, September 23 at 7:30 PM with Bach’s 6 Little Preludes before continuing with the final 12 preludes and fugues of the Well-Tempered Clavier. Whether experienced as a complete two-evening cycle or as individual concerts, these performances offer an opportunity to experience the extraordinary imagination, contrapuntal mastery, and expressive range of Bach’s musical world.
