Program Summary
Kiya Tabassian on Persian setar and Ablaye Cissoko on kora meet for their third collaboration, joined by percussionist Patrick Graham. The programme, built around the image of an estuary where river meets sea, sets Persian classical practice against West African griot tradition in newly devised material. Constantinople is a Montreal ensemble known for early-music-rooted cross-cultural programmes.
