Canzona

Canzona is a Winnipeg choir rooted in Baroque music, founded in 1989 by conductor Henry Engbrecht. Elroy Friesen took over as conductor in the choir's 35th anniversary year, after Kathleen Allan (2016-2023). Its recordings, including the three-volume German Hymns project, have reached audiences around the world, and it has collaborated with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, GroundSwell and Dead of Winter.
