The Descent of Orpheus

Charpentier's miniature masterpiece follows the poet Orpheus on his journey to hell and back to rescue Eurydice, unfolding with the splendour of the court of Louis XIV. American tenor Daniel McGrew makes his Canadian debut in the title role — first sung by Charpentier himself — with Opera Atelier's singers and dancers and soloists from Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.
