Program Summary
Elektra returns to Holst's Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, which the choir first sang forty years ago, with harpist Vivien Chen. Around it sits a world premiere commissioned from Suba Sankaran and music by Shruthi Rajasekar, Reena Esmail and Katerina Gimon, alongside songs by Joni Mitchell and Dolly Parton. The programme sets the choir's own history against the repertoire it has since made its own.
