Chor Leoni
About this organization
Founded in 1992 by the late Diane Loomer, Chor Leoni is recognized as one of North America's vanguard low-voice choral ensembles, now performing as Chor Leoni Choral Society (renamed 2024) with up to 70 TTBB singers. Under Artistic Director Erick Lichte, the choir performs classical and contemporary repertoire in multiple languages, has commissioned hundreds of new Canadian works, and won the 2019 Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence. The organization runs professional ensemble The Leonids and youth programs MYVoice, ECAP, and PRÉLUDE, and hosts the biennial Big Roar Choral Festival.
