Program Summary
Christian Kluxen conducts the Victoria Symphony with Canadian violinist Blake Pouliot in Sibelius's only concerto, framed by Heino Eller's Koit (Dawn) and Dvořák's New World Symphony. Eller's tone poem was written as Estonia emerged from Russian rule; Dvořák's Ninth weaves homesickness and discovery into one of the most familiar works in the symphonic repertoire.
