Program Summary
Juliane Gallant leads the Victoria Symphony in orchestral music by Joe Hisaishi, the composer behind Studio Ghibli's best-known films. The programme moves from the waltzing Merry-Go-Round of Howl's Moving Castle through Orchestra Stories: My Neighbor Totoro to a suite from Spirited Away. Hisaishi's writing for large orchestra is heard on its own terms, without film.
