September in Victoria: the season opens with Beethoven, Bach and a choir under the stars
The end of summer can be shrouded in melancholy. And yet it is also the time of year when we get to look forward to the new season — and what a season Victoria has in store.
The Victoria Symphony kicks things off with a bang, bringing Beethoven's radiant Seventh Symphony to both the Royal Theatre and the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney. If you're feeling adventurous, Vox Humana Chamber Choir's Vox in the Stars takes place at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, which is not a sentence you get to write most months. And if you want to witness the brilliance of a world-class pianist, Minsoo Sohn arrives at UVic for the first half of a two-concert journey through Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier — with a free masterclass two days later that anyone can sit in on.
Wishing you a gentle easing into autumn, and thank you for supporting Victoria's classical music community.
